Dazed and confused

May 14, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Weights

Comments:
im not sure how effective NO xplode is anymore right now. took 2 scoops, couldnt tell if i felt anything since it was really subtle. but i def felt somewhat of a beta-alanine tingle.

Squats. Got my ass kicked again. 1x10 with 135 as a warmup set. jumped to 185 for the first working set, hit 10 reps, kind of a struggle. my form still feels a bit awkward. i may be going down further than necessary, like ass to the grass. and sometimes i feel like im leaning forward too much since im kind of afraid to put too much weight on my heels, even though im supposed to. second set of 185 for 10, hit it all but also a struggle. made me really out of breath too and my vision and hearing started to blur. I was looking dazed and confused as hell as i stumbled to the water fountain. It was just complete, utter delirium.
Bumped up to 190lbs since i didn't think i could handle 195 yet. hit 5 full reps and then hit failure on the concentric portion of the 6th rep. had to use the spot bars. took like a minute and a half to reset the weight, and hit about 5-6 more reps with 175lbs. dropped down back to 135lbs for the last set and i think i hit like 15 reps.
I think that now my nervous system is pretty well adapted to the movement, the improvements have slowed down since now i'm just mainly training the muscular adaptations.

I couldnt find a seated calf raises, so i just didnt do that.

Onto hack squats. the weight of the machine was lighter than the one at Veale, and had less full body support. did a set of 10 or so with 25, then 35 then 2 sets of 45 i think and then back down to a set of 25.

Leg press. definitely a lighter machine than veale. warm up set of 10 with 90lbs per side. then 115lbs for a set. then 125lbs for a set of 12. up to 135lbs (3 plates each side) for 10. surprised i could hit all this but it was really straining my lower back. backed off to 90 for 10, dropped to 45 for another 10.

Leg extensions on the pin stack machine. set of 15 with 40lbs, then 50lbs, then 60lbs, then a set of 12 with 70lbs, and then a triple dropset of 70-50-40-30. Really fatigued the hell outta the quads.

I was stumbling around like a cripple without his walk-assist. when i got to the stairs i took one step down and damn near tumbled all the way to the bottom. had to hold both handrails and slowly went down. never have I achieved this level of failure immediately after a leg workout, great success!
