went for 5x5 on the deadlift. originally wanted to do 255lbs, but after the first set that felt too easy, so i bumped it up to 265lbs for the next 4 sets. took mostly 2:30ish rest til the last one, for 3min. easily hit all my reps. might have even done 6 on set 4 accidentally got carried away. that was when the bar started slipping out of my hand and ripping my callouses off again. i didnt put the straps on til set 5, so im happy about that. I tried the breathing technique for heavy weight and it worked pretty well. it generates a lot of internal pressure which gives u good power. suck in some air at the bottom of the rep and hold it during the concentric phase, then release it at the top of the rep. that turns me into watermelon kool-aid man mode though. face turns all red.
I went pretty slow on the eccentric phase too cuz it wasnt too bad and my shins didnt even get scraped too bad.
And my erectors didn't even bother me at all. only my right adductor, from squatting too wide on tuesday.
My traps are really feelin it now too. i made my upper body tight. good shit.
5x10 w/ 115lbs on hamstring curls
5x15 150lbs on standing calf raises
5x15 w/ 100lbs on hamstring curls
