All hail the treadmill!!

June 15, 2009 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Hailstorm!!!

Comments:
As I left work today, the sun was shining and it seemed like a good day for a run...boy did that ever change. When I got home I had to wait for a roofing contractor to stop by and give us an estimate. The skies grew darker...Having seen AT's post about manning up and running in the rain, I was prepared to tough it out through some showers. The contractor showed up and as he surveyed the house and drafted his estimate, the rumble of thunder grew increasingly frequent. I began to doubt the wisdom of running outdoors. Not five minutes after the roofer left the skies opened...with a flurry golfball sized hailstones!!! I've never seen hail this hard or this big. If I had started running right when I got home I'd have been at least a mile and a half away when the pelting began.

After things cleared up, I opted for the gym (again), since a hailstorm really cools things off and makes it damn foggy. I wanted to run a full 15k to gauge my current Boilermaker status, but the treadmill only allows preset time, and caps out at 60 minutes. So, my goal is now to break 60 minutes for a 15k. Based on today's results, totally doable.

1286 calories.
