bad workout today

i typically dont get too much sleep during the week. 6 hours or less is fairly typical. i dont remember the last time i got close to 8 on a weekday, excluding naps. so waking up today was no different than the rest. maybe its catching up to me. cuz thats probably supposed to happen in sleep deprivation, correct? i also have a true pre workout today. did hyphy mud. i felt like it never quite hit me. while warming up i didnt get all warmed up. and actually felt slightly on the chill/sleepy side. i wasnt completely focused on what i was about to do.

after warming up, i had the target weight 180 loaded up on the bench. my goal was to hit 20 reps today, either 5x4 or 4x5. probably 5x4. first set i hit 4 reps. and as a common theme the last rep was a tremendous struggle. on the second set, i hit just 2 reps. that was the end of 180. so i unloaded the weight to 135 and did 2 sets of 10. man that sucked. this was like a Maxx chewning bad day.

i thought that the overhead press would go well, since i still do it well after bench press, even if the bench wasnt so stellar. but it sucked. first set i went for 5 reps of 110lbs, that was like all out effort and pretty much took everything outta me. set 2 i hit 4 reps and then wanted a 5th one but it was the strangest thing. not that i couldnt push the weight up, but my core failed on me. i just could not hold the weight up anymore. reracked the bar, deloaded to 95lbs and did a set of 6 which felt much easier, then a set of 5. fuck that.

lateral raises. did 2x6 with 35 which felt tough then 2x10 with 30 which was easy but also hard. cuz i wasnt feelin it today.

gotta brush off the bad days because i know im not overtrained. i dont think im under recovered. just need to sleep more. with a good pre workout igniter tomorrow, hopefuly deadlifts and back day will redeem itself.
