WHOO, I DID IT. Ran the LONGEST I have EVER run, the previous record being 8.10 from sophomore year (granted, that run was at 7:10 pace, but this still feels great after years of holding back my training). Also with this run I surpassed 100 miles for the month, which hasn't happened in a very long time. I started the run simply hoping to go a bit long to make it easier to hit my 30 mile goal for the week, and I just felt so great despite the heat that I went all out. Now I should have an easy time hitting 30, tomorrow I'll probably go 4 easy and do a strength workout.
I think what impressed me the most was how in control I felt. I had a niggling issue with my right hip flexor, but apart from that I felt great. A bit tired, but not in a "have to force myself to finish the run" way.
