Pedal and Plod Race

Weather: 70ish, partly cloudy

Comments:
4.4 mile road race followed by 22 mile bike (done by Chris.) Just treated it like a tempo run. Didn't get all nervous beforehand like the 4th of July race, probably because there were only 94 teams and knowing that the bike leg was much longer and matters a whole lot more.
I went out in a pack of four with Scott, Kent, and Tom Keefe. I've never beaten any of them before. We were going 5:20 pace for a while and then I slowed down and fell back a little bit. I knew the hill was coming up and all I had wanted to do was separate myself from the main pack so I wanted to make sure I didn't kill it too early. Nobody caught up to me so I ran the rest alone. Those 3 guys ran in the 23's. I heard the course record is low 23. Once I got up the hill I felt good and picked it up. Had a solid amount left after the downhill to kick it in for the finish. Felt like I had too much left as always.
