Elliptical Attempt at a Workout

Comments:
Planned on doing an hour hard. Even though this week was scheduled for much easier exercise because of my knee, I figured the elliptical has never caused any problems before, not even going fast on it. But today, there was mild discomfort on right knee, outside, like there has been for the past week, so I cut the workout short. I started with 15 minute warm up, then 5 intervals of 2 minutes easy and 3 minutes very fast, hard effort, then a 10 minute cool down, so 50 minutes total. Pain started happening on 2nd interval piece, then I made decision to cut back. Did whole workout on low resistance, so there shouldn't have been much pain...
