losing grip

August 20, 2013 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Weights

Comments:
heavier back day today. i was originally planning to Unleash the CrazEness but i decided to go with just Unleashed. First exercise was deadlifts. couldnt really do this in a boot so i just took it off. but left the sock on so it protected my shin.

A lot of the bumper plates were being used. so i had enough for 225lbs. then i actually just added 100lbs to it with the yellow plates and went with 325lbs. I think what made today harder was that my grip was more limited by the fact that the barbell i used was fatter, so it was harder to grip. actuallyon the first set my left hand which was overhand grip lost touch with the bar after 2 reps so i had to let go, reset and pick up the 3rd rep from a dead cold start. second set i put on just the left strap. it was tough but doable. for whatevever reason the left side kept hitting the ground first. ill get that fixed. and on the third set i coudl feel my glutes failing and my lower back taking over the work, leaving the movement not in one fluid motion.

bent over rows. all the power racks were being used so i had to move to the olympic lifting room. 195lbs for 3x8. wasnt too bad. then a back off set with 135 for maybe 10-12. time to continue to increase volume at 195. wearing the boot made the exercise feel just slightly awkward but it really wasnt too bad

stayed here for pullups since the power racks were still taken. used a chain, did 8 neutral grip for 2 sets. 8 wide grip without weight. i think? dont even remember... last set was maybe just 6 without weight wide grip. i think

2x8 with 70lbs on the one arm row. decent. obviously harder to feel the contractions at this weight but i just focused on getting through the motion and moving the weight.

pretty much got 4x9 on the curl with 30lbs on each side of the bar. last set was a dropset though. maybe one more session at this weight then time to step it up another 5lbs.
