transitioned to the low bar squat today, with the tips from Mark Rippetoe. It was a success. i did 205lbs for 5x8, just didn't do the last rep. this was real tough. 8 reps of heavy squats is like doing freakin cardio. after each set i was delirious, with only 2min rest. also, low bar definitely hits the posterior chain more, especially that lower back. jesus christ the burn in the erectors were ridiculous. and who says low bar doesn't hit legs well? it sure did. esp the glutes and the quads for sure too. I should do 205 for 5x8 once again to confirm it. then do like a few more sets of high bar to hit the anterior slightly more.
i was so freakin exhausted and burnt from squats that i only did 135lbs for RDLs. like 4x10ish. then 95lbs for 2x8 ham curls. real tough on the low back. then 2x10-12 70ish.
seated calves i think maybe like 95lbs, and did 5x20. i can def feel the left calf is weaker from atrophy of wearing the boot. it was more shaky.
then like 2 plates + 2x25s on straight leg for 5x20 added more weight, forgot, but calves are sore.
