alumni race. we were supposed to take it pretty seriously and perform 100% this year since there was no workout after. i don't know if i did that. i wasn't very tired at the end, and had too much the last mile. we were also supposed to "race with who we are going to race with at all-ohio". i kind of did that part at least. i didn't really know who that would be before the race started, because i pretty much have not raced with anyone on the team this year. but i wanted to run with gilad. i sat back at the beginning and let things play out. first mile was low 5:30's, i think i was right behind scott. caught gilad and gabe at the top of the hill, and worked from there. i tried to push it at a few different spots in there because i just didnt feel tired, but that second mile is so hard to push on. the last mile was probably quicker than it should have been. would have been happier if it was more evenly distributed. i also let gilad get too far in front of me. i could have ran better if i stuck with him for longer. pleased with today though. i hadn't raced in a while and to get that feeling of a race before all-ohio was good for me. blew by benny d and gabe at the end, which felt pretty good. i hadn't been feeling very fast this past week, and it was good to feel like i've still got it. since gilad will be in the varsity race at all-ohio, i won't be able to race with him, but i think gabe and i can work together, and hamm wasn't all that far away either, and i think we can work with him. i don't think i could be heading into all-ohio in a better position mentally. i finally feel like i'm doing this whole cross country thing right.
