mile repeats. probably not my best workout of recent weeks, and its one of my favorites so thats a shame. my calves were sore after the workout, but didnt notice during, so it wasn't that. galen lead the first one through a 5:04, and i think that might have been a little too fast. i tried to tell myself mentally that it wasn't, but i just kept slowing up on each one. galen also jumped up with group one after the first, and i'm trying to be confident in my ability so i wasn't going to let him do it without me. it might have been better to stay back but i'm glad a i tried it. i was pretty pissed after 4 and 5 because they were much slower than they should have been, i couldn't even gut out a fast last one. but i've let workouts go way worse before, so i'm okay. barnes told me after 4 and 5 "its nice to see you back" after looking at saturday's times (i don't know if he knew how slow i was going in the workout at the time). and it made me feel all warm inside. just kidding! i'm not that needy. but it is was pretty nice that he brought it up, because i do feel like i'm back, and even though it sort of seems like coach has picked some people who are struggling to do a speed workout on wednesday, i love speed stuff, and i think that's how i get into ideal shape, and i'm looking at it as an oppurtunity to put in some quality work (but not too hard since we race friday).
