WU, S-400, 100(25drill/25sw)
S-6x250(20”) alternate 25fast/25EZ. This was the toughest set of the morning. After the 3rd time of going fast on the 2nd set, my arms were tired. When going fast, I could really feel the “stiffness” of the water and I could move quite a bit. But on each 25 EZ, my arms cut through the water without any feeling of “grabbing the water.” I think my arms were so tired from going fast that they just wanted to relax before the next 25 fast.
P-1x600 (foils, build each 50). By this point, I was too tired to focus on the build and the foils and keep the buoy between my legs! But I noticed some pain in my left elbow, probably due to the added resistance of the foils.
S-4x75@1:15 (breath every 5).
S-6x100 @ 2’ (75EZ, 10 pressouts, 25 high power). I could really feel the high power strokes in my shoulders and triceps. I could feel the water much better because I was focusing on it more. It had that sensation of “grabbing around a barrel” that you read about in training books. And then the push (analogous to the pressout) felt easy and lighter by comparison to the pressout. I don’t know if that means that 1) I was moving more water than usual; 2) My arms were fatigued from the pressouts; 3) It should have felt lighter than the pressout, because it didn’t involve lifting 170 pounds out of the water.
