I'm back. Now's the time. I've committed to running agin. Or as Joe put it, "Build[ing] some F**** AEROBIC FITNESS!"
Felt good just to move the legs easy. Crazy form-focused. Mostly on "good arms" - high, 45deg's - as that has been a flaw in the past. Got a lot of work to do, but looking forward to doing it.
First things first, I need to sit down, think, and write out some goals. What do I really want to accomplish next year and how do I plan on getting there? And most importantly, how commited am I to seeing it through? It's one thing to say: "I want to WIN WS" and another to actually have the motivation/discipline to actually do the things to make it happen. Will be good to process this stuff as I haven't ever really done that in the past. Next year's theme: Focus.
Priorities in line, focus on what matters, and stay disciplined in doing it.
I'm really looking forward to next year because during Western States, I pushed beyond my bodies capabilities (and my mind's). Therefore, I no longer fear pain in the way that I used to. I'm going to run at the front of the pack this year. No more fear. No more self-doubt. Time to enter the Promised Land while defeating "Giants" along the way. God is my strength.
Did a short core sesh post-run...Re-oiling the machine!
PS: With my bday $$, I bought the most basic Garmin watch. It'll be fun to track mileage/pace that way and be used as a motivating tool. I'll post the "stats" link below.
