I didn't accomplish my goal today, I ended up 12th on the team I think. Watching girls varsity pumped me up so much though! They kicked ass!!! And Kelsey is awesome and I love her. The first mile was amazing because Allison and I were leading a pack and we would just pass people and merge around them. I loved it! I dropped off after the first mile though. I always do that, like losing a little mental battle with myself. After that I think I did pretty well..every time I wanted to slow down I would move my arms faster (that's what Barnes said to do). Hearing my teammates cheering everywhere was awesome too and so motivating. I made it a goal to catch up with Laura because she passed me toward the beginning, and I did, but after that my kick was nonexistent. I'm mad about that because I know I had energy left to kick. I felt so much better and more positive than I did at All-Ohio, but my time was slower. And my average kilometer pace and mile pace were both so much slower than I've been running in workouts. I don't understand. I was 13:51 at the two mile and 20:50 at the three mile. If I would have stayed with Allison I probably would have been happier about my time and my finish.
