Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
uaas for the last time. the plan was to go out very conservative. so we started in the back of the pack. this still brought us through a pretty quick time in the mile (4:55). the second mile wasn't that fast, and included some uphills. it seemed like too little, too late for this race, since i wore myself out trying to catch up to the front pack. yeah, they took off and ran the second half a lot faster, but if i had been up there to begin with, maybe things would've been different. not that i wanted to lead the race at the beginning, but being in the mix definitely would've helped. it's a lesson to take to regionals. on top of the fact that i am sick, it just wasn't a great race. i could almost feel it beforehand. i think i was feeling the pressure to lead the team, not sure why it came on only at this meet. i will be healthy and i will run a great race at regionals. i will run a smart race and position myself where i need to be to do well. and that's all i can ask for. the rest is up to the running gods.
