January 7, 2014 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Decided to do a 20 minute tempo instead of the 25 minute negative split that coach assigned us, since I didn't really have a good negative split route. I did this in the cemetery, making sure to salute Francis Scott Key on my way out. Today was a chiller, about 3 degrees outside with a good amount of wind. That's why I was surprised with a 5:03 first mile, and even more surprised with a 4:59 second mile. The sub 5 was surprising because it is a net uphill as well. I backed off to 5:15 and then after jogging the last 30 seconds of the last mile hit a 5:22 so that one was probably around 5:10. Felt good about this one. It was a nice way to get back into feeling like a runner again. 3k next weekend.
