February 4, 2014 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Cool
Comments:
Did a 20 minute warm up and then started our workout on the outdoor track. We did 2x800m with 3 minutes rest and then went to indoor and did 4x400m with 1 minute rest. The 800m's we were supposed to hit the first one as fast as we could knowing we could come back and run a faster one. And the 400s were just fast.
2x800m w/3min rest
#1: 2:07.50
#2: 2:06.35
3:41 jog to indoor
4x400m w/1min rest
#1: 1:00.82
#2: 1:01.61
#3: 1:01.55
#4: 1:03.31
10 minute cool down
1 cycle through circuit workout with power stuff at the end
The workout went really well actually, my hip felt pretty tight during the warm up so I was worried but the times were really good. The first 800m we went out a little fast in 60 but it felt easy and then came back in 66. Then the second one I ran 63-63 which was great. Then the 400s were pretty quicky with only 1 minute rest and we did them at indoor. So I was really happy to hit those after doing two fast 800s. Really pleased with the workout and it gives me more confidence going into the mile at Penn State this weekend.
