not a very good race today. it was really crowded at the beginning, and i used a lot more energy and got tense at the beginning of the race. not a good strategy. so i guess it's been a while since i've had to compete in a race from start to finish. i was hoping to be able to relax for the first couple laps, feel things out, then decide what to do. i got boxed in from the start because i wasn't aggressive, and then couldn't make a move when it was time. partly i think i got worked up and overthought it during the race, because afterwards my legs weren't very tired. uaas will probably focus on the 5k, which should play a little better into my strategy. i'm disappointed with my performance, but it's been a while since i've had a really bad race, so i guess it's better now than later??
