picked a good workout to come back on. 400's are my favorite. Jess told me if I could make through all 15 i would be able to just do whatever, but i realistically didnt think i would be able to do that, figured 5-10. did 8 of them. i was a little surprised at how fast i was able to do them and not at all surprised that my legs felt like crap on cool down. also forgot we were doing the 600 first and was confused when wyatt and david kept going. woopsie. anyway, i felt good enough to slide in behind wyatt for most of them. hit 74 on the first 400 and hit 72 most of the way through to 69 on the eighth. i could have gone faster but no need. 72-73 is probably actual goal pace for a 5k, so i was surprised to be able to do it today. my legs feel pretty trashed right now. but my foot didnt bother me. i am unsure of how racing is going to go. last week jess seemed to think i would get to race friday ("no promises" though) and i want to race, but today i realized coach kind of has no idea where my progress coming back is so i don't know if she'll want me to race this weekend. i might be optimistic, but i have always been confident in track and that just wont change haha. i think i could run close to 9:00-9:10 this week. and my biggest goal is to get to go to vmi, and my worry is that if i don't race, obviously coach schmuhl has never seen me race to know what i am capable of and wont take me. i think i will be able to race with wyatt by then for sure so even if i dont race maybe my workouts to that point will convince coach lanese to lobby for me.
