FOR CHRIS KELLY: Can the body only process 20-25g protein at once?

hI cHRIS :)

Is this true?FUUUCKKKK NOOOOOOOO.

People think that you can't eat more than 20-25g protein in one sitting because your body can't process more than that. Even the "experts" at GNC tell you this. Motherfucker.

Well, all myths are based on some form of truth. and the truth that this myth is based on comes from biochemistry. It is true that excess intake of protein will result in the amino acids deaminated by the liver and excreted in the urine etc, since the body can only utilize protein to do useful things (like building muscle) at a certain rate, and the rest will be wasted since the body doesn't store excess the way it does for fat. People think that if you eat more than 25g protein in one meal, then the rest of it will be wasted.

Why is this not true? because we eat protein by putting it into our mouths. We don't inject pre-digested protein into our bloodstream. the fastest digesting protein in the world, whey protein, digests and gets absorbed at a rate of 10g per hour. when you drink a 25g protein shake, that shit isn't even completely in ur system until 2 and a half hours later. if we were directly injecting readily digested protein right into our bloodstream, then yes, more than a certain amount would be a waste since that protein would immediately be put to use. but since we're eating it, it takes so much fukcing time for it to digest/absorb in our stomach/intestines that if u ate 100g of protein in a sitting, it WILL ALL get digested and absorbed. it will simply take longer, espcially if its a slower digesting source like casein or animal meat.
We all need a certain number of grams of protein per day. thats different from person to person. Personally, I weight train so my demand for protein will be higher than someone who sits on their ass. So I try to get at least 150g a day. Let's say I haven't eaten at all today. For my first meal, I eat like a double burger, a 4oz lean chicken breast and a scoop of whey protein shake. thats approx 100g protein right there. Since it's my first meal and i haven't gotten any protein yet today, then ALL 100g of protein will be digested, absorbed, and put to proper use because I need 150g. It will simply take many hours for this process to happen. now if for the rest of the day I ate another 100g so that my total intake for the day is 200g, then yes, ~50g will be wasted.

Why it's silly that people frantically slam a protein shake immediately post-lifting and are afraid of going catabolic if they dont do so.
The "golden window" where the muscle u just trained is more receptive to protein to grow doesn't just last for 1 fucking hour after ur workout. That muscle is growing continously for 24-48 hours after the workout. If you drank 25g whey right after ur workout, its gonna take 2.5 hours to digest anyways. as long as you get in the necessary amount of protein by the end of the day each day, ull be fine. doesnt matter how much in one sitting or how many times you eat. back in the caveman days they ate whenever they could, which was after they hunted succesfully. they didnt have shit stored in the fridge to eat every 2-3 hours for fear of going catabolic. our bodies have evolved intelligently so that we dont need food at certain time intervals. think about how many ppl would die if they just went catabolic every 2-3 hours.

Bye Chris :)
