Not great. Being frustrated with myself for messing up so many to break 2, whether it be because I got intimidated and went out too slow or because I was really cold and wet (okay the latter wasn't really my fault), I decided to push the first lap so give myself a fair shot. My first 200 was great but I pushed too hard when I didn't need to, ended up with the lead on the second lap going into the wind, and I was ultimately too tired to finish well because of the stupid surge I put down 350 meters in. I'm still not sure why I decided to push going into the second lap when the pace was fine, but I paid for it with a painful last 100m where I knew that I was going too slow to break 2 yet there was little I could to. My final time was 2:01.0 or something, so just a little better than two weeks ago.
On the upside I'm on the 4x800 at UAAs, so that should be fun and provide the end-of-the-season atmosphere that usually gets me PRing. It stings that even if I break two there, it won't really count since it's not an open 8, but I'm sure it'll be a fun and intense meet regardless.
