Wills Hills 2 Mile Time Trial

We did a 2 mile time trial today at wills hills. The weather wasn't too bad. It was around 77 degrees with no wind which was good. The sun was on me, but it was ok. I was just glad there was no wind. I was surprised how good I felt considering how short my warm up was. Just a short jog and then a 200 meter at steady state. I felt really good throughout the whole race. I started off behind most people from my team. I was around 3 seconds behind them. I knew I could easily pass them later. I stayed confident and calm. After a quarter mile, I surged for a long time. This surge was really good. I surged past the pack easily and took off to never get close to them again. The surge was calm and felt good. I kept surging until I caught Ian who was ahead of me a lot at the beginning. I thought my splits weren't too bad considering I haven't done any speed work. I finished way ahead of most people. I got 5th fastest on my team behind Ababu, Arjun, Sandesh, and Richard. There were a couple hills in it, but was not bad. My watch came said it was 1.98 miles. The splits the watch gave were 5:39 and 5:49 pace for last mile for a time of 11:28. Coach gave me splits of 5:30 and 5:50. Either way, I think I did good. I am going to go with the 5:30 and 5:50 splits because cross country courses aren't accurate so this is kind of the same.
