I ran 2 miles again today. My knee definitely felt a lot better than it did on Wednesday. What I felt today was not so much pain but more like tightness but even that didn't come on until about a mile as opposed to last time where I felt it two laps in. I found a stretch that really helps reduce the strain on the IT band so I've been using that and it seems like it worked well. I stopped after lap 5 for 30 seconds to stretch and it stopped hurting when I started back up and only came back as slight tightness and was less severe. The other thing I've been doing that helps is trying to run with a midfoot strike as opposed to heel striking and that actually does make a big difference. The only problem with that right now is I am just getting used to running like that so I don't know how to do it without running too fast yet so my running has been at a pace that is not considered easy for me but I can work with it. As long as it keeps the pain away I'll keep working on it. I'm going to do core later tonight. I'm going to run again Sunday and hopefully it goes well again so I can finally start ramping up my training. Today's run was definitely encouraging!
