Regular Run

Weather: starry, dark, and cool :)

Comments:
Ran from home at a little past 10pm. As I ran out of my driveway one of my neighbors was walking her dog and stopped me. She asked me if I were scared running alone in the dark like I do or something along those lines. It was an awkward encounter...I just said that sometimes I do but I had brought my cell phone with me. I kind of wanted to ask her if she ever gets scared walking her dog alone at night like that but held back because of course that would be rude. I shook the encounter off until about 10 minutes into my run when I got really annoyed about it. I know most likely she is just really concerned about my safety but it made me feel like a child which I am not. I love running alone at night even though I am fully aware of the risks so I try not to do it too often...being questioned by her just made me feel awkward and she probably wrote me off as some stupid/naive girl but really I think I am old enough to decide what to do on my own. I get enough questioning and the like from my parents on choices I make and really it was not her place to probe. Like I said I am sure she had good intentions but I feel like the way she went about it was wrong...if she just said be careful or something it would have came across as less judgmental or pushy. Anyway the run was very nice...the sky was clear and the air was cool. I ran past the college staying on rt 33 and 116 where there are street lights and turned around at 30 minutes.
