Exercise Type: Run

Weather: not as foggy and cool as usual in Mendocino, low 60s

Comments:
After a night in a B and B, I ran north along the coastal trail I'd discovered yesterday and returned to the campsite in 18 minutes from the southern tip of Mendocino. My pace was easy and un-rushed. I packed up our tent and belongings, and then decided to run to Jug Handle house to help Si deal with the left-over salmon. that distance was unknown to me, but I hoped it would be between 3 and 4 miles. It was likely 3.5, I learned. I felt loose going up the long, long hill out of Russian Gulch and when I hit the flat pavement on Route 1, I felt great. pavement was a nice change after a week of trails. I set a brisk pace, maybe 6:30ish, give or take. There was always a slight climb or a slight descent and the variety was enjoyable. Felt like running Reach the Beach early legs (due to running on the shoulder of a fairly busy highway.) At the Saturday night wedding I heard from both the groom and another relative that they had seen me as they drove past in separate cars. (Not a lot of roads in and out of Mendocino.) I fatigued a bit int eh final mile, but kept the pace brisk and finished strong. even took a couple minutes cooldown putting away trash cans form the rehearsal dinner at Jug Handle house. This definitely counts as an impromptu tempo run and is clearly my first, really good-feeling run of the summer.
