Bizarre workout

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: about 70 and pleasantly cool

Comments:
Ran 9 minutes over to Wilson to meet up with Sam M and Ben Geman. Paused at the bathroom and to visit with 5 week old Ryan McFerran. Sam suggested we alternate running 2 lap pick ups at 6 minute mile pace. In between each interval we were to stand at the side of Ryan's stroller to ensure his safety while he slept. I was not particularly enthusiastic about running fast.Sam ran solo and Ben and I ran together. I locked in on about a 1:28 pace for each 400 (took splits mid lap based upon Wilson markings). Each lap at that track at that pace was about 17 seconds short of a 400m. I ended up running two laps, then three laps, then two laps, then three laps, then two laps all at the same pace and never felt particularly taxed. The 2 lap pick ups were probably about 2:26 and the 3 lappers were about 3:39. The cool downs were basically standing or slow shuffle jogs. (Obviously I got shorter (70 seconds)recovery when I choose to run three laps.) after all this, we just walked (very slowly) back to Sam's house and then I ran the 3/4 mile home at about 7:40 pace.
