Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
It was pretty hot and humid. The sun was in my face the whole way back. I thought I got a really good aerobic benefit from this run. It was at a very good pace, but wasn't hard. At certain points, we picked up the pace considerably. My mile times were 7:46, 7:06, 6:55, 7:01, 7:20, 6:57, 6:50, 7:33, and 7:06 pace for last .7 miles. During mile 3, I ran faster for like half a mile and slowed a little once I crossed Hillcroft. I was probably going 6:50 pace. We stopped at all the water fountains quickly. We did stop at Double Secret for a long time, but it helped make me run fast on the way back as well. The mile from Hillcroft to Chimney Rock, I ran pretty fast. It wasn't hard at all, but it was around 6:40 pace. Once I crossed the bridge, I might have been going 6:30. It wasn't hard at all. After we stopped at the water fountain, we kind of jogged until the hill near Chimney Rock. It was a really good mile. It felt nice and smooth so it was probably my lactate threshold. I finished this run well and I think this was a very good run. This has to be in my top 10 runs so far this summer.
