8 Mile Run On Bayou

August 10, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I started this run at 7:10, but the sun didn't come out until about 2 miles into my run. It was 79 degrees with 94 percent humidity. The sun didn't really have a huge effect on me until mile 5. I could feel the sun, but it didn't make me slow down a whole lot until then. Running into the sun made me slow a lot. My mile times were 7:46, 7:39, 7:42, 7:24, 7:31, 7:49, 7:47, and 7:42. I felt pretty good during the first 2 miles and only expected to do 6 miles. After I got to 3 miles, I decided I would do 7. Once I got to the fountain, I decided to go ahead and do 8 because I was feeling good. I sped up a little and it wasn't hard. It felt good to pick up the pace a little bit. The sun keeps me from doing that a lot. The reason I slowed down was due to the sun in my face, not because I was tired. The sun slowed me like 20 seconds a mile. I thought this was a pretty good. Overall, I think it was a good run at a decent pace. I am glad I got in 8 miles.
