Comments:
Alumni race at Carroll today! Wow I seriously felt so dead/out of shape...it was pretty discouraging. My goal was to beat Angela, but I was trailing her the whole first mile and being pretty negative and unmotivated the whole time. Then she started slowing up a little so I decided to pass her, and right when I did she dropped out of the race! I was so mad. Now I can't say I beat her, she can say she dropped out because her back was hurting. I should have just stayed with her from the start instead of letting a gap form. I'm in the shape to do it. Running with people makes me nervous though. I need to work on relaxing while I'm racing next to people this season.
On a more positive note, I ran a 12:45 2 mile and got 3rd place! (Last year I ran 13:32 for 4th place.) My splits were 6:15 and 6:30, which could be better but I was happy with that. Plus the course itself kind of sucks. I'm excited to try it on a track and see how that goes. I out-kicked Wes at the finish...almost let him go though. I really need to find something to give me a competitive edge. But overall the Alumni girls beat the team girls and Katie, Rachel, and I went 1-2-3!
