Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Rainy, pouring at the end

Comments:
Lucern, Switzerland. I set out on the Wanderweg, aiming for 55 minutes. Despite my out and back fever this summer, I resisted and found a turn around point at 18:42 that got me back along the lake on a gravel path. At the half hour mark I was seriously picking up the pace after an awkward start from the day off and Lasagne in my stomach. I ran across the tree-lined path next to the lake, then turned left, going across the bridge and taking a lap around the concert hall, setting down a street for three minutes, turning around and holding the tempo pace all the way back to the hotel (49:34). I went to a beautifully manicured, grassy field with two, appropriate, bronze statues of Grecian athletes. I did eight striders, six of them barefoot and ran back to the hotel. The tempo portion unfolded in an organic way. Squat-pushups to 10, 2 minute flutter kicks, 2:15 planks, 20 clams per side. I will have to take tomorrow off as well because of a nine-hour tour of the nearby glaciers (which will be somewhat active), but will still hit the target for the week after a run on Saturday.
