Run to Fells w Ben

So damn hot out. This was by far the hardest run I've been on during my time here. It was super long, at least 4 miles were on very rocky trails (but so beautiful!), it was generally rolling hills the whole time, and a whopping 86 degrees!! I'm proud of it, though, especially the end.

Around 3 miles from the end, my left hip (hip flexor?) started hurting a ton and I had to stop and leg swing a bunch. It went away after about 2 miles but definitely did not feel good. I'll have to be careful for that over the next two weeks.

The highlight of the run was definitely making it to the South reservoir. After taking a dunk in the water (ahh so refreshing in this heat!), I really enjoyed the gorgeous view of trees (with suggestions of red fall leaves every here and there) around the huge reservoir.

The last two miles felt really tough and really slow but apparently we got progressively faster over the course of the run according to ben's gps watch. The 8min/min last mile felt like a 10min/mile.

Now, to eat and work and stretch and sleep.
