Weather was better than it has been. I am excited that the weather is only going to get better from now. It was pretty humid though. I did not log my warm up mile, so this is a guess. I jogged a lap on the course in my sweat pants and went slowly. It really loosened out the legs. After that, I sat for around 10 minutes. Got my spikes on and went to the start line. Drills, sprints, and some faster jogging to finalize my warm up. I felt really good when warming up. Around a minute before the gun went off, my legs felt a little heavy, but I think it was just nerves. I started off right where I wanted. I got a decent sprint and I was behind everybody on my team. I did not kill myself finally in the beginning. I went out very well. I stayed composed and moved up slowly throughout the first 2 miles. This was my first race where I did not run with a watch. I wanted to go off of effort. I ran extremely well. I think I ran even splits the whole way. I didn't really have a huge sprint at the end, but my last half mile, I thought I did very well. One of the best races I have ever had. Very proud of this race. I finished as the 5th runner on my team and behind people who are way faster than me I thought. I do not know if the course was accurate or not. If I had to guess, I was probably on pace for a 17:30, but that is a complete guess. All I know is, I ran really well and being the 5th runner. Extremely happy with the results today
