October 4, 2014 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: raining off and on, chilly
Comments:
We had to set up camp outside under the pavillion because the guys were jerks this year so that was annoying. But anyway, we warmed up by running the course and they had changed it a decent bit from previous years. Also it was extremely muddy. I was feeling pretty good though and afterall, it was Tully, so I was pumped. During thee race I once again started in the middle and worked my way up for the first mile to mile and a half until I was in no man's land. Everyonce in a while I would hear footsteps behind me from Dakota and some other guy he was with and about 75 meters in front of me I could see the next guys. It stayed like that for the whole last mile and a half of the race. I sprinted to the finish when someone yelled out that I was in 10th place. I made it too so for the first time ever I won a t-shirt. I'm going to cherish it forever. Dakota got 11th though and just missed. I was so pumped to see my time of 17:18, only to find out the course wasn't a full 5k. Still though, I got my highest speed rating ever by far so I'm happy. The mud was awful so I think that contributed a lot. Afterward, Dakota, Nate and I cooled down.
