With the addition of prize money to the years Halfathon series this years racing season just got a bit more interesting. With just about 18 miles the past few weeks it time to step up a little bit. At this point a hard pace is around 6 minute miles. With moderate to easy pace 7:30-8:30. Also the stamina is decent for a 10k pace. I need to be increasing the weekly and daily mileage as well as increasing a good stamina. For now I will focus on 10 miles. I need to first increase the miles to ten and then work on keeping 6min miles for the 10. But maybe more important I need to be adding speed work.
Todays run was lunch break run. I was able to get a run in and I was able to not sit on the steps and smoke cigarettes. Tomorrow I have a day off so I want to wake up early in get a workout in. Then go some time with out smoking a cigarette.
