Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Well Oberlin was today and I showed up. Gave it all I could but Austin and Honens kept holding me off.
Got off the first half mile nice and easy and out of trouble. Saw my pack was 15m ahead of me so I surged to get them. The pack dissolved before I caught most of them around the mile mark. At this point I was moving so I just kept with it.
I wanted Girbino to come with and we worked well together through the 1.5 mile. After that Gabe and Austin picked it up and I wanted to get them so off I went, Girbino was falling out of it.
got Gabe around the 3 mile and kept moving because Austin 10 meters up and he was 2nd for case. I wanted to get him bad but pushing hard through the woodchips was not the smartest move. Just wore myself out.
I was catching him by the 4 mile mark and I really thought I could do it. Barnes asked how much I wanted it. I wanted it bad.
next thing I know Honens blows past me with about 1200 to go. I was gone. Slipping through the mud I just couldnt keep with him. by time we reach 1k they're gone. I can still catch them, any great distance runner can hold on for 1000m. But I was too weak
Legs were gassed so I drove the arms, which worked for a bit. Until my hands got sloppy and my entire form followed. just broke down
they were right there

shitty way to end cross: 28:17. Not sub 27, not on the travel squad.
Guess it's on to track. Need to take care of this strange neck/chest pain. Hopefully sleep will help.
Girbino and I want to qualify for track with a 16:12 5k. I'm more in shape for that than a 4:35 1 mile. We've almost split 16:12 in a couple workouts so its totally doable.

probably taking tomorrow off.

peace
