Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Weather was pretty good, but a little humid, better than usual. This is basically the last long hard workout so I wanted to go harder because next week is going to be shorter stuff. I ran really fast on this run, I even surprised myself. My mile times were 8:10, 6:50, 6:09, 6:13, 6:15, 6:01, 6:03, 6:44, and 6:45 pace. Running a 12:04 2 mile in the middle of this run is really good. We stopped at Double Secret which helped keep the fast pace, but its good that we get that rest so we can keep running fast. It also keeps the workout from being a hard tempo. I was definitely pushing myself, but not over pushing. I started to hurt on the way back, but I really fought hard mentally which I thought I did a good job of. When some of the varsity guys started to go really hard, I was running 6:00 pace alone. My legs got heavy at the end of the run, but I still ran hard and did well. I felt really good on the cool down though. Last long hard workout so overall, very good run.
