TCS NYC Marathon!!!

November 2, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
most incredible experience. There were so many people cheering in every neighborhood. The views were cool, and it was neat to see different neighborhoods, but I think my favorite part was seeing so many different people all over new york excited about the race. Everyone was enthusiastic, whether or not they knew anyone running, and the streets were practically lined with people the entire way.

The race itself went better than I expected, and I really couldn't have asked for a better race. There were a few times when I consciously backed off the gas pedal, being afraid of "the wall," but it never really happened. So I guess in those moments I could've pushed harder, but I think it was a really well-run race. There were some ups and downs in the splits, but the two halves were almost exactly the same, slight positive split! it was great to get out and compete, especially in such a big race. there were always people to pass, even at the end! plus i had a couple australian guys on my tail for the last few miles that i decided weren't going to beat me. and the didn't. take that australia.
