We started out with the usual warmup around the block and drills behind Safeway. While doing our drills, we were graced with the presence of GDS alum and runner extraordinaire Matt Simonson. We then went inside to the warmth of the forum, where Anthony gave a brief talk as well as Matt. Today was just about running to loosen up, for the most part conserving energy for tomorrow. Charlie and I ended up running together. We went to Booeymonger's (the shortest option) and decided to go another block. After that, we figured another one wouldn't hurt. We continued to add blocks before realizing that we were running far past what was needed (or beneficial) for tomorrow. After forcing ourselves to turn around, we ran back (everything felt great, btw. No knee or hip pain whatsoever) and did 6 striders behind the Safeway. Thankfully, we have a late start tomorrow, which means an extra two hours of sleep tonight, and I don't have to worry about waking up early for the bus on saturday (which leaves at 10). So far so good, and I have high hopes for tomorrow's race.
