December 11, 2014 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Did the usual warmups, but before we left we did supine and lateral planks while Anthony talked to us about baton handoffs and the meet tomorrow in general (which I am supremely and illogically nervous for). We then went down to Yuma, turned right, and ran to 49th, all the while enjoying the gorgeous sunset. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to do the 49th street loop or take the long option, but I was feeling pretty good (partially from the distracting sunset), so I turned left on the spring valley loop with Noah K, Sahil, Charlie, Noah B, and Gillian (the pack has been reunited!!!). Once again, however, I hit a wall of fatigue that set me a little bit behind my teammates for about 200 meters, but I regained my rhythm and caught up at around AU. Surprisingly, I'm not all that sore from yesterday's weight circuit, but I think I have have strained something in my neck (sharp pains when I swing my left arm back and turn my head). It loosened up over the course of the day, so hopefully it's nothing to worry about. Once we got back, I did a set of planks (1:00 each) and the leg lifts rotation (15 each). Overall, I definitely feel stronger than last week, and hope to continue feeling good on my runs.
