Fort Reno Hills

December 18, 2014 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Did the usual 2 laps around the field just to run a few more blocks to get to Fort Reno. We did the hill 6 times, running up diagonally (William said it was around 200 meters). We were told to focus on driving our legs on the the first third, pumping our arms on the second, and turnover on the third. The hills were fairly humbling, reminding me that, even though I've improved greatly on endurance, I have a long way to go when it comes to speed and strength. Luckily, I had already done the weight lifting circuit during P.E., as I would have been way too tired to do it after this. I really ramped up the effort on the last 2 hills, but I'm still not used to expending so much energy instead of pacing myself. Afterwards, we all got a chance to relax while Anthony gave a great speech about the universe and winter break training. Finished with a long cool-down, where I got a chance to run with the NXR boys and not be too out of breath to hold a conversation. I went straight to fencing and attempted to hold my exhausted body together for 2 more hours, marking my true start to winter break.
