Midnight Strength Work

After a long and fun day of family adventure in the city (including the Cooper Hewitt museum, which I highly recommend), I found myself without having run. I did the usual warmups in the hallway of my grandparent's apartment building (trying to keep quiet, as it was around11:30), and tried to figure out what to do. I found the nearest stairwell and tried running around 8 flights as both a warmup and a test for a possible workout ground. Due to a combination of absurdly shallow stairs, tight turns, protruding walls, creepy echoes, and solitude, I decided that the stairs were far from ideal. Reluctantly, I settled in the hallway of the apartment and did strength work galore:

3x10 Pushups
Crunch Progression (1min)
Planks (1min 15)
Plank Leg Lifts (20)
80 Deag Bugs
25 Superpeople
20 Sitting Leg Lifts
25 Clams (each side)
Heel-Toe walks

I also tried to mimic some of the weight circuit movements (like the hip flexor leg raise, and resistance leg swing) by doing A LOT of reps with just body weight. I think it worked well enough. I feel guilty for not putting aside time to run, but also understand that a day with family can be even more important.
