Comments:
Felt pretty good on the warmup. Legs were fresh from the day off. Did 6 x 100m strides to warmup. The goal pace was 81 per lap which comes out to 3:22.5 per 1000. The rest time was 3 minutes. The rest of the group had a bit faster goal so I relied on myself for pacing. I kept going out in around 38 for the first 200 each time, which is too fast, so I just had to settle into the pace after it. I was slightly fast on each rep but I felt well within myself on each and really feel like I could run that pace for 5k on Saturday. It felt like a comfortable race pace. I just need to not get excited on the first lap. If I stick to a good pacing plan and keep it consistent I should be capable of setting a new PR for myself. The 4 200's after were pretty quick for me but I liked them for once. Got my legs moving and still felt smooth. Great workout going into the week of my first indoor race of the year.
