Treadmill Tempo

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
The roads outside were too bad to run on so I was forced to run on the treadmill today. I figured if I was going on the treadmill today I would make it my only treadmill run of the week by doing my tempo. I warmed up 2 miles at a 2% incline then went right into it. I kept the incline at 4% the whole way. The first 2 miles were at 8.8 mph, miles 3-4 were at 8.9 mph, and the last 2.5 miles were at 9.0 mph. This tempo felt much better than last week's. I felt in control the whole way and actually felt like it was very close to my normal tempo effort. I added the extra half mile at the end to make it 6.5 because I have done 6 the last two weeks and felt like it was time to bump it up. Listening to music also helped it go by faster. I'm happy I got this tempo in today and am happy with the way it went. Hopefully it's not too long before we can shovel the track and get back outside doing real tempos based on pace rather than effort. I cooled down 1.5 miles at a 1.5% incline. I did core and push-ups when I got back to my room
