Gasparilla Half Marathon

Today was either a good run or a bad race. I made some mistakes. It starts with cigarettes and that I smoked two many of them last night as well as one the morning of the race. I was a little late to the start and I got buried in the middle of the field which led me slow off the line and then through the first mile I was slow. I was able to pick it back up after mile two but then was halted by a bathroom break. Plus I ate an orange before the race and it was repeating on me!

I need to be focused and hungry over the next few weeks leading into the last race of the season. I have high aspirations for this last race and after two decent races under sub par conditions I am feeling confident in being able to break 1:20 in the last race. If it doesn't happen I can't be disappointed as long as I break a pr and peak for the season. It has been a long season and my first real racing season back on the circuit. I am just several places from the heavy weights and regardless of the results I look forward to kick off the off-season training and look forward to next season where I look to be much more competitive!

February has been a good month and puts me in good shape for the championships. With 6 running days left in the month I look to add 30 more miles and then continue that high mileage into the following week.
