Hill Workout

I didn't really know where to do my hill workout this afternoon, so I just set out south on Wisconsin until I figured it out. I decided to go to Fort Reno, but ran up to Brandywine to extend my warmup before running by Wilson, Little did I know, however, that I was going by just as Wilson and Deal both get out. So, as I tried to weave through the sea of people and avoid the scarce (but present) running-shorts remarks, I took the path into the Fort Reno area, scurried around the grassy field on the right, turned around, and got myself over to Fessenden. I ran the east side of it, between 38 and 39 (I know it's a bit long, but I had no other means of measuring, so streets were my benchmark), "cresting" by turning right and continuing on 39th until Garrison st.

I felt good on the hills, and, after 6, decided to finish through and do 8. They didn't get significantly harder as I went, which was a good sign, and my splits were pretty consistent (all within 2 seconds of each other) The cool downs were nice and long (jogging back down to the base, plus a minute), which gave me significant time to psych myself up. It was hard running without any teammates, but reading everybody's logs beforehand helped. For a cool down, ran to Wisconsin, took that to Chevy Chase Circle, went up Western, turned left at Livingston, turned right on 42, and circled my block twice. Felt exhausted, which I guess is good, but might have made my cool down dangerously close to non-conversational.
