Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Had kind of a late start today, and then spent most of the light hours swimming (did about 30-45 minutes of snorkeling, saw a barracuda) and visiting with family. The food here is all pretty overpriced, overcooked, and overhyped, so I wasn't feeling very light or energetic when I headed off to the hotel gym at 9. Turns out it closes at 9, not 10, so I had to improvise. Did about 5 minutes of going up and down a sizable outdoor staircase, along a path, and repeating. Then I discovered some more paths and stopped doing the stairs in order to get a more continuous, distance run. After 20 minutes of that, I hopped across 7-mile highway and went to the rarely frequented and aptly named Safehaven drive. It's just about 300 meters, but I had no idea of that at the time, so I tried not to look to much at my watch and just ran how I felt. I ended up doing at least 20 lengths, and the run was 40 minutes (not including the stair portion, which I'm regarding as a warmup).
Did 8 striders afterwards. Felt very quick and light, a nice change from the usual and a good thing to remember.
