Crazy rain and wind here. I was told it would last the whole day, so I did the 300 workout during what actually ended up being the worst spell of rain. Warmup up in a 2 block vicinity, mostly just circling the neighborhood. I was able to make it 12 minutes because there was incredible wind in my face or side 3/4 of the time, which was just frustrating. By the time I was done with warmups and striders, my shoes were just big puddles and my clothes were drenched.
The road in front of my cousin's house is 360 meters, so I started near the end of one side, and cooled down in the excess zone on the opposite. Because of the wind (which ran along the road), I decided to go for 1 minute instead of for a distance. Not surprisingly, all of my 300s going into the wind were consistently around 3-5 meters shorter than those going with the wind. All of the intervals were pretty near to 300 meters, though, and the consistency upped my mood as the workout progressed. I ended up doing 10, with 1min recovery between all of them except for the fifth, which had 3min. My 7th ended up being closer to 1:30 recovery, as I had to wait for some cars to pass by. I had some trouble really getting on my toes on a lot of them due to the almost constant 2 inches of water on the ground and the mental aspect of the stinging raindrops. Hopefully this workout was good enough to progress my training. I definitely feel tired after it, just not super satisfied.
