I came into this workout expecting the worst (repeat 400s) but I was pleasantly surprised by broken 800s, which I had never done before, but discovered I really liked. Target times were 35 for the 200s and 90 for the 400s. I ran with Ari, with Emilia, May, and Simone ahead for each interval but all together during recoveries. I was mostly happy with this. I wanted to do better on the last 200 of each 8, but it was still a good, quality workout. It seems hard to imagine running an entire 800 at those paces though. It felt faster than race pace, even though both of those were close to my PR. I guess that's because it's early in the season. I'm really looking forward to racing my first 800 on Saturday.
