Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
We got there and we did a team warmup. Then I hung out in the school until I had about a hour to warmup. Then Me Noah Niall Connor and Hunter warmed up for the 4x8 Niall warmup up for steeple. We got back to the stands and we did some drills and strides(about 400 meter) then headed out to the infield. The gun went off and Connor was leading for us he didn't get off to the best start but he finished great he got a 2:10 which is quick. I got the baton and I was right with a guy who is the same 800 speed as me. I stayed on him the entire time and passed a few people. I got out really comfortably and felt good the entire time. My first 400 was 59 and my second was 63 the last 100 I was pumping my arms like crazy. Both Noah and Hunter got 2:11s after that. I was really happy with my 2:02 which is a new PR by 3 seconds. And our whole team ran great. I got a cool down in while watching Niall in the steeple. Me Dan Noah and Neil went inside to get out of the sun after that since it drains your energy. We got another warm up in a hour before my next event. They had us waiting for forever for our event. I actually didn't feel nervous at all for the mile. When the gun went off it got out relatively quick but not too bad. I stayed right in the middle of the front group and Adam was leading it. I was feeling great, the second and third lap I felt great as well I just kept my pace and stayed with the front group. I got boxed in for the first 3 laps and I wasn't able to move at all until I forced my way through right at the start of the last 400 I moved up into 3rd keeping a eye on the leader. Dan dropped back and told me to stay right on his shoulder. He moved up and I moved up with him til we got right on the leader with 200 meters left. Then I just let it all out and was going a full out sprint. I got first in 4:38 which I was happy about it felt amazing. Dan helped me out a lot during the race which I'm thankful for since he was tempoing the race. The team, both guys and girls won the event which was the best part of it. I feel like I'm progressing a lot and can still improve a ton.
