Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Ran with a Mark M. and Aaron R. on the way to AU, which gave me a nice chance to socialize with some different people. Because we're racing tomorrow, after doing drills on the track, Jacob, Matt L, Jackson, Sahil, Silas, and I ran along Mass Ave to Wisconsin, where we then went back to school. The run was pretty light and everything felt fine, expect for a little nagging pain on the bottom of my right foot, but it went away after warmups, so I'm not worried. A few blocks after passing the Glover Archibold trail head, we passed by a petting zoo and couldn't help but stop for 30 seconds to pet the llama (which I strongly believe was actually an alpaca). Did 6 striders on the sprint track, which felt fantastic.
I'm really nervous for tomorrow's race. Because I've only had races this year where I go out tentatively and speed up, I plan on pushing my limits and practicing pacing by going out stronger than I instinctually would and trying to hold on for the rest of the race. Hopefully, I have more endurance than I think and I can maintain close to the starting pace, but, if not, the race will become and exercise in pushing through pain.
PS: Congratulations and good luck to everybody who has or will run at Penn!
